(ROCKVILLE, Md.)—Members of two major organizations in the for-hire transportation industry will converge in April in the beautiful Sonoran desert in California for a combined conference.
The Taxicab, Limousine & Paratransit Association (TLPA) is pleased to announce it will host the TLPA Spring Conference & Expo in Palm Springs, California, from April 25 to 28, an event timed to coincide with the annual meeting of the Taxicab Paratransit Association of California (TPAC) in the same location.
“We are thrilled to join forces at this important conference with our esteemed colleagues from TPAC,” said Alfred LaGasse, the CEO of TLPA, an association that is celebrating its 100tth year. “Our agendas align on so many pressing issues of our time, and this sort of ‘big tent’ gathering is extremely valuable as we move our fleets forward through all of the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century.”
The Spring Conference & Expo / TPAC Annual Meeting will take place at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa. To register for the event and take advantage of discounted room rates, please visit www.tlpa.org/Spring-Conference. Space is limited and attendees will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis.
TLPA’s first meeting of the year, the Spring Conference provides innovative educational programs and networking opportunities. Its Expo will feature tabletop and floor exhibits from the industry’s leading vendors, showcasing the newest products and services designed to help members grow their businesses. TLPA’s committees and board will also carry out the association’s agenda at meetings held during the conference.
Some 350 people are expected to attend the combined conference. Participants’ registration fees cover all food and beverage functions in the exhibit hall and all open meetings. The annual spring event provides a more intimate setting than many other industry events, allowing vendors to concentrate on their customers in a relaxed atmosphere, set this year against the backdrop of the stunning California desert.
The conference has a packed agenda, including a General Session presentation on a new national Transportation Network Company (TNC) platform that includes taxi fleets. In addition, the session will cover new insurance programs and structures for fleets, as well as open nominations for 2017-2018 officer and board member positions.
The conference’s planned breakout sessions will appeal to a wide array of for-hire industry professionals with the following topics being discussed:
Limousine and Paratransit Business Migration to New Vehicles, Services and Markets
Status Update on Autonomous Vehicles
Achieving Scale by Integrating TNCs into a Taxi Fleet
Employee Driver Recruitment & Retention for Paratransit and Limousine Fleets
Taxicab Regulatory Changes for Improving Service
Service Differentiation to Promote a Local Taxi Market
The full agenda may be found on the TLPA website at www.tlpa.org/Spring-Conference. Attendees may also register online on the website. The meeting’s hashtag will be #FleetForward.
