NEW YORK CITY TAXI MEDALLION AUCTION

The next New York City Taxi Medallion auction will be held in the fall of 2007. The auction will consist of 150 wheelchair accessible medallions exclusively. Both individual and mini medallions will be available.

The exact numbers of each category of medallions to be auctioned and auction date(s) will be published very shortly. In the meantime, you can subscribe on the TLC website for auction updates and other current TLC news:

REMINDER: RUNNING BOARDS REQUIRED FOR IN-USE AND NEWLY HACKED-UP SUVs

Industry Notice # 07-12

The New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) today reminded the owners of all Sports Utility Vehicles (SUVs) in use as New York City medallion taxicabs that, as per Taxicab Specifications (specifically, 3-03.1(8)), running boards must be installed.

If the running board is not installed at the time of the hack-up, the vehicle will be given a 10-day Notice to Correct. Vehicles found not to be in compliance at the time of their scheduled inspection will also be given a 10- day Notice to Correct.
