New Driver Application Status Report Now Includes Missing Fingerprints and DMV License Copy

The New Driver Application Status Report, which lists the status of all driver license applications and missing requirements, has been updated to notify applicants if fingerprints or a copy of their DMV license is missing.

Applicants can check the status of their applications at www.nyc.gov/newdriverapplookup

To check your status, you will need your application number, which may be found in your application confirmation e-mail. It can take new information between 3 to 10 business days to appear on the report.

Missing fingerprints or DMV license copy will be shown in the "Other Requirements" column..

Applicants that need to complete the fingerprint requirement can sign up for an appointment at https://ny.ibtfingerprint.com

When asked for an ORI number, please write "TAXI."

Applicants that have not yet submitted a copy of their DMV license should e-mail a copy of their DMV license to newdrivermr@tlc.nyc.gov

Notice: Taxi and Street Hail Livery (SHL) Improvement Surcharge Payment Dates Established

Improvement Surcharge amounts owed for the fourth quarter of 2016 are now available on TLC’s License Applications, Renewals & Summonses system (LARS). .

The Improvement Surcharge amounts owed are for trips completed between October 1 and December 31, 2016.

To view and pay the amount you owe, please visit LARS at https://www1.nyc.gov/lars

The timeline for payment of the fourth quarter of 2016 Improvement Surcharge is as follows:.

February 9, 2017 - Challenge Period begins. Owners and Agents should direct all questions or challenges to:

For Taxicab Improvement Fund related issues: tifcollections@tlc.nyc.gov

For Street Hail Livery Improvement Fund related issues: shlifcollections@tlc.nyc.gov

February 22, 2017 - Challenge Period ends. Amounts finalized.

March 9, 2017 - Full payment is due to the TLC at https://www1.nyc.gov/lars/.

Failure to submit full payment will result in fines and/or possible suspension of your license.
